Byung Yoon Lee
ANOTHER WORLD
Born 16th February 1993, South Korean
Byung Yoon expressed a traveler creating an undiscovered paradise of his own, by gathering all the beautiful objects in this world. He imagined an incomplete paradise from the idea that everything is beautiful when it is in the right context. He wanted to create a space that would eradicate the context, a paradise where beautiful objects would lose their original beauty. His installation is futuristic but also past-oriented, beautiful and awkward, prosperous but empty. The print on the fabric that covers the case is a patchwork of various graphic images he has blown out in pixels and features embroideries on top. The phones he has collected are decorated in detail and the mask on the mannequin head is inspired by the style of his fashion collection. Discarded shoelaces make the artificial hair on the head.
